Alex Lyon

Alex Lyon specializes in communication and leadership development. He is on a mission to help professionals and emerging leaders enhance their skills to amplify their influence and take their career to the next level.

In addition to Alex's coaching and speaking experience, he’s a full-time Professor in Communication at SUNY Brockport. He holds a BA, MA, and Ph.D. in Communication with a focus on workplaces and leadership.

At the start of his career, Alex witnessed the impact that a leader's skills can have on their team's success. He has seen firsthand how effective leaders inspire and motivate their team members, while poor leadership creates dissatisfaction and poor performance.

Several years ago, Alex started his own Youtube channel and began providing both free and paid courses on platforms like Skillshare, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning and his own website.

His goal was to create a comprehensive program that offers a combination of top-notch online courses, live workshops with personalized coaching and feedback, and a collection of practical resources, including time-saving templates, workbooks, and tools.

That's how Communication Coach Academy came to existence!

Alex is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and he believes effective communication is the key to unlocking your full potential.

On a personal level, Alex lives in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State (7 hours from NYC) with his wife, teenage son, and two dogs. He has been happily married for over 20 years and is grateful to have his wife as his biggest supporter.

In his free time, Alex enjoys playing the bass and acoustic guitar mostly with the band at his church. He has a background in playing and singing in a hard rock club band when he was young. He also enjoys playing chess either online or in-person.

When he’s not working, you’ll find him spending time with his wonderful wife, hanging out with his son, playing music, or sailing his really old boat on Lake Ontario. But he's the happiest when he's making his wife laugh.
